iMac Screen Replacement, Suggestions and Tips

At our meeting on the 19th of August, Robert talked about his experience replacing the screen on an iMac. Members shared lots of advice and helpful tips.

iMac Screen Replacement

Robert talked about the process of replacing a cracked screen on a 27 inch iMac. He followed the screen removal and refitting instructions from iFixit.

McClockface

DaveK demonstrated the iOS app McClockface that provides a customisable full screen clock and many different clock widgets for the home screen. The clock widget designs range from stylish to bold and many are based on retro technology, media and memes. Some of the widgets have additional customisation options.

DavidB

DavidB showed us how to set focuses such as Do Not Disturb during certain time periods using the Automation option in in Focus settings on iOS.

He pointed out FarPlay, communications software with very low latency (delay) specifically designed to allow musicians to play together across the Internet.

David also recommended Letter to You, Surface and Five Days at Memorial (including the making-of videos) on Apple TV+.
